Exceptions and Waivers
There are a number of exceptions and waivers to the post-employment regulations. However, many of them depend on specific sets of facts. So, we recommend that you confer with your own Deputy Ethics Official, Regional Ethics Counsel or OGC/Ethics about your own situation.
Some of the more common exceptions include (click on each one for more information):
- Acting on behalf of the U.S. Government
- Acting as an elected official
- Scientific or Technological information or expertise
- Testimony
- Acting on behalf of specified entities
