Acting As An Elected Official

Former employees can make representations back to the federal government if they are carrying out their official duties as an elected official of a State or local government.  See 5 C.F.R. 2641.301(b).

Please note, however, that this exception applies only to elected officials and not to all employment by State or local governments.
