Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
Applicability Tool (version with current GWPs)
Does the onshore natural gas transmission pipeline facility emit from pipeline blowdowns 25,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent or more per year as CO2 and CH4 emissions from blowdown vent stacks?
Instructions. You can review the industry segment definition in Subpart W. - Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems, Section 98.230(a)(1) (including the October 22, 2015 rule amendments) to determine if your onshore natural gas transmission pipeline is part of the industry segment, then estimate emissions by using the methodology provided by Section 98.233(i), and then indicate your response. Alternatively, you can use the onshore natural gas transmission pipeline calculation utility linked below to estimate emissions.
Onshore Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Facility Calculation Utility
This utility will assist you in assessing whether your facility is subject to the reporting rule, based on the estimated annual volume of natural gas vented from the transmission pipeline facility during transmission pipeline blowdowns, in standard cubic feet (scf), during the year.
