Help Centers
Environmental Compliance Assistance Clearinghouse. This innovative web site provides quick access to compliance assistance tools, contacts, and planned activities from US EPA, its partners, and other compliance assistance providers.
Iowa Waste Reduction Center - Since 1988, the IWRC has helped small businesses comply with federal and state environmental regulations and pollution prevention initiatives. By incorporating on-site reviews, applied research, and hands-on training into its free and confidential assistance program, the IWRC offers complete compliance assistance that small businesses can understand and apply. 
Paints and Coatings Center - The Paint and Coatings Resource Center (PCRC) is maintained by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS). The PCRC is one of the Compliance Assistance Centers developed by industry-government partnerships, with support from EPA's Office of Compliance. The center includes an "Ask the Expert" section.
Printers' National Environmental Assistance Center - PNEAC is provide a direct conduit to experts and reliable information on environmental issues related to the printing, publishing and packaging industry.
University of Tennessee, Center for Industrial Services - CIS is the statewide business assistance and education service of UT's Institute for Public Service.
Pollution Prevention
Coating Alternatives Guide (CAGE) - CAGE is a pollution prevention tool which provides information on low-emitting alternative coating technologies to coatings users. CAGE currently addresses alternative, low-emitting coatings for metal and plastic part coating operations, but, future versions will address alternative coatings for wood, and other substrates.
Solvent Alternatives Guide (SAGE) - SAGE is a comprehensive guide designed to provide pollution prevention information on solvent and process alternatives for parts cleaning and degreasing. SAGE does not recommend any ozone depleting chemicals.
Green Seal - Green Seal is an independent, non-profit organization that strives to achieve a healthier and cleaner environment by identifying and promoting products and services that cause less toxic pollution and waste, conserve resources and habitats, and minimize global warming and ozone depletion.
Example Startup-Shutdown and Malfunction Plans
Although no specific SSMPs have been developed for the 10yr surface coating MACTs, example SSMPs have been developed for the Secondary Aluminum and Municiple Solid Waste Landfill MACTs under "implementation information." These examples may be useful to the coating industry as a guide.
Example Notification Forms
Example notification and report forms have been developed for sections 63.9 and 63.10 of part 63, Subpart A, General Provisions. You can find these example forms by going to the General Provisions rule page.
Although most standards reference sections 63.9 and 63.10 of the General Provisions for some or all of their notification and reporting requirements, please be aware that these General Provisions example forms are not intended to exactly match all the requirements of a specific standard. Specific standards may include or exclude General Provision requirements or can require additional information beyond Subpart A. For this reason, these example report forms developed under Subpart A should be treated as examples only and may be useful to users as a starting point for developing report forms that are facility and MACT specific.
