Affected Units

The Acid Rain Program (ARP), the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule’s (CSAPR) sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) emission reduction programs, apply to large electricity generating units (EGUs) that burn fossil fuels to generate electricity for sale. The Mercury and Air Toxics Standards only cover large EGUs that burn coal or oil to generate electricity for sale. This is the primary reason that this report includes less units for MATS. This section covers units affected in 2017.
