Pesticides are chemicals used to prevent or kill pests like roaches or weeds. Because these chemicals can be harmful, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, is in charge of controlling how these chemicals are used in this country so that plants, animals, and people are protected. If your parents or a pest control operator uses pesticides in your home, BE CAREFUL!!!

DON'T TOUCH PESTICIDES OR PESTICIDE CONTAINERS.

If you and your parents want to know more about pesticides, try these EPA resources on the web:

If you have a question concerning pesticides you can contact the National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC)Exit EPA disclaimer . NPIC provides information related to pesticide products and information concerning pesticide poisonings. Their Web site can direct you to your local Cooperative Extension Service for questions on lawns, gardens and pest control. They can also give you a contact to report any environmental damage or health problems caused by using a pesticide. You can reach NPIC at 1-800-858-7378 or by email at npic@ace.orst.edu.
