Abstract

This project provides fact sheets for precollection (pretreatment) devices that are used in emission control systems to remove course particulate matter. These devices are usually combined with a fine particulate control device (e.g., Fabric Filter, ESP, etc.) as part of an overall control system for particulate matter. The fact sheets briefly describe:

each technology
its theory of operation
where it can be applied
its control efficiency
cost effectiveness
other critical operation and maintenance factors
