Why This Course Is Paper being rubber stampedImportant...

Take this course before going on an IPA assignment outside of EPA (if you already work here) or if you are an employee of a non-federal entity coming to work at EPA on an IPA assignment. You'll get invaluable information on some of the most critical ethics issues you'll face during your IPA assignment.

However, this course is NOT a substitute for the annual ethics training that is required of Government employees. EPA also has an intranet site that contains training, ethics tips and other information. If you have access to EPA's intranet site (e.g., you are taking this course at an EPA office), you'll find this site useful. (Link to EPA's intranet ethics site).

Also, this course doesn't cover administrative areas concerning IPA's (e.g., salary, annual leave accrual, writing of IPA's). If you're interested in finding more information in these areas, please refer to the Intergovernmental Personnel Act Policy and Procedures Manual (Link to PDF file of the IPA manual) or contact the Office of Human Resources (OHR) which has an intranet site on IPAs..here's a link.
