Portland Cement Manufacturing

EPA is reducing harmful air pollution from the Portland cement industry through regulations that rely on current technologies to reduce emissions of toxic air pollutants, such as mercury, acid gases and total hydrocarbons, along with emissions of particulate matter (also known as particle pollution).

The regulations apply to both existing and new Portland cement facilities that do not burn hazardous waste or non-hazardous secondary materials as fuels. Cement facilities using those fuels are covered by separate regulations.
