The Air Quality Partnership of Delaware is celebrating Air Quality Awareness Week. Several events are planned as part of the week, including: 1. Try It Day Delaware. Try It Day is your chance to try a greener mode of transportation (walk, bike, carpool, transit) one day during the week. Individuals who post selfies using the hashtag #TryItDayDE will be entered to win a $25 gift card. 2. Air-Friendly Business awards will be presented to local businesses that make efforts to encourage employees to make greener transportation choices or take other measures to improve air quality and raise awareness of air quality matters. The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County is hosting its 17th annual Clean Air Fair on Thursday, May 4th from 11:30am-1:30pm in downtown Tampa. Our theme this year’s theme is: TOMORROW IS COMING … CLEAN AIR IS NO GAME and is meant to recognize that our future is driven by our past, so we must act today to care for the air and environment we all share tomorrow. The fair will feature environmental and community exhibits, transportation and bike exhibits, refreshments, student environmental photography and live music. The event will also recognize Arbor Day and the importance of a balanced natural environment through the distribution of free tree saplings to all attendees. The Air Protection Branch (APB) of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD) will be kicking off its inaugural Air Quality Awareness Week (AQAW) at APB headquarters. Air Quality Awareness begins where we are, here at Georgia EPD.
Starting on Friday, April 27, APB will be distributing daily, themed AQAW emails to its employees. Each email will link to EPA’s AQAW website and provide suggestions on how to reduce air pollution on a personal basis. Additionally, there will be several AQAW activities for employees to engage in throughout the week. On Monday, employees will be encouraged to wear green for the AQI’s Code Green and on Friday, employees will be encouraged to wear blue for clear skies. On April 30th and May 1st, APB will also be hosting an Open House of the new Ambient Monitoring Workshop where the Program conducts maintenance on the equipment, performs field readiness testing, houses spare parts, and conducts training for its employees.
Finally, APB will be collaborating with Georgia Commute Options’ inaugural initiative: Clear the Deck, which takes place May 14th – 18th. Employers will challenge their employees to use cleaner commute options for at least one day during the week. During the initiative employers will monitor parking consumption through their decks and lots to showcase decreases in mobile usage. APB will advertise the challenge via the final AQAW email. To start the conversation, APB will install a weeklong live infographic where employees are encouraged to indicate where they are commuting from within the metropolitan Atlanta region and the method they use to get to the Atlanta Tradeport, APB’s headquarters.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is kicking off Air Quality Awareness Week, April 30 – May 4, 2018 (www.cleanair.nj.gov). The goal is to promote events that increase air quality awareness and inspire people to take steps to reduce their contribution to air pollution.

USEPA REGION 2 NEW YORK OFFICE - This Air Quality Awareness week, EPA Region 2 will be hosting Partnerships for Local Action: A workshop on Innovative Campus-Community Partnerships and Air Quality Citizen Science.
NOACA will celebrate Air Quality Awareness Week by promoting cleaner modes of transportation via our innovative commuter web platform, Gohio Commute. And on Tuesday, May 1, NOACA will kick off an exciting Bike Challenge on the platform, with fun raffles and prizes for Northeast Ohio residents who leave their cars at home and bike to work and college! In addition, NOACA will blast “Air Quality Where You Are” social media messages throughout the week -- to promote the AirNow website, encourage Northeast Ohioans to take actions that help clean the air, and invite residents to sign up for NOACA’s Air Quality Advisories.
Celebrate Earth Day 2018 with the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC), the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency (RAPCA), and ABC22 / FOX45. On Thursday, April 19, 2018, viewers are encouraged to call into the station’s phone bank, at (937) 262-1910, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., when local experts will be answering questions on air quality issues and providing tips on how to reduce air pollution.
The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) will be celebrating National Air Quality Awareness Week, April 30 – May 4, 2018, with daily social media posts about air quality. The social media posts will highlight simple actions in different areas of your life that you can take to help reduce air pollution and your exposure to it. To celebrate Air Quality Awareness Week (AQAW), Klamath County Public Health (KCPH) will be posting wildfire safety information our KCPH web sites and on several social media sites. The information will help people get prepared for this year’s wildfire season. On March 22 members of the Puget Sound Maritime Air Forum will release results of the 2016 Puget Sound Air Emissions Inventory on air emissions in the Puget Sound Airshed from all maritime-related activities for 2016. The project was funded by a committee of seven ports, six government agencies --including grants from EPA, and three industrial partners, led by The Northwest Seaport Alliance. Elected Ports officials will present info on air emissions reductions and hold a public/media Q&A panel with public agencies, community members to share how policies/operational changes reduced emissions, modernization plans, impact of reductions, future plans for reductions.
