2012 Conference Registration

 

Paperless Conference!

We will have wireless Internet capability in all training and conference rooms for our conference. There will not be any printed session handouts, and we will also not be supplying any computers. Be sure to bring your own laptop that meets the following requirments:

- Microsoft Windows XP Professional, SP2 or higher; Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7

- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.X or 8.X or higher

Hardware: 1 CPU at 1.2 GHz or faster, 1 GB RAM or more, 5 MB of free disk space

Oracle BAM Active Studio requires 1024 x 768 minimum resolution

Oracle BAM Active Viewer requires 800 x 600 or higher resolution

To take the AQS Intro training, you will need the following software:

- IE (as described above)

- Java 1.6.x runtime (JRE)

- Adobe Reader

To take AQSP&A training, you will need the following software:

- MS Excel 97 or higher (for AQSP&A training)

To take Discoverer training, you will need the following software:

- An Internet browser

The conference session material will be available for download in portable document format (PDF).

Training sessions will be offered all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning.  All sessions except "How AQS Relates to the Monitoring Program" are "hands-on" with attendees using their own laptops. See above for laptop requirements.

How AQS Relates to the Monitoring Program

The "AQS Introduction" class is designed for new users, primarily those who will be submitting data to AQS.  It is a full 2-day class with hands-on exercises.  Class size is limited to 40 people.  Please do not register for this class if you have previously attended it.

"AQS Precision & Accuracy" shows how to use the Air Quality System Precision & Accuracy Generator (AQSP&A) to create AQS data input transactions for precision and accuracy data.  This same session is offered twice.  Class size is limited to 40 people.

"Discoverer with AQS" shows how to use the Discoverer web tool from Oracle Corporation to perform ad hoc queries of the AQS database. You will learn how to connect to Discoverer and how to use it to retrieve AQS data, including raw data.  If you've taken an "Intro to Discoverer" session before but have not been using the tool, feel free to register for this session. This same session is offered twice.  Class size is limited to 40 people.

"Advanced Discoverer" is designed for users familiar with Discoverer who want to learn to create more complex retrievals to answer programmatic monitoring questions. You should not register for this class unless you have taken the "Discoverer with AQS class", or are an experienced Discoverer user.  Class size is limited to 40 people.

"Advanced Retrievals" provides information about several AQS standard reports, such as the Design Value Report, the Data Quality Indicator Report, the Data Completeness Report, and the Quick Look Report.   Class size is unlimited.

"How AQS Relates to the Monitoring Program" will help explain the purpose of ambient air monitoring as it pertains to the national air quality program created by the Clean Air Act. The role that monitoring and AQS play in the "big picture" of air quality standards and air pollution control programs will be discussed.
