iTouchMap.com Latitude and Longitude of a Point Browser

This iTouchMap.com Latitude and Longitude of a Point Browser, will assist users to locate and box an area of interest. This allows users to query data and summary information available within a given latitude/longitude bounding box. Two diagonal points can be used to populate bounding box limits (north, south, east, west). Detail Instructions for plotting two diagonal reference points can be found via the warehouse application help file Click Here. Contact STORET@EPA.GOV for more information.

National Environmental Methods Index - NEMI

The National Environmental Methods Index (NEMI) at www.nemi.gov - a free, web-based, searchable compendium of environmental methods.
NEMI contains method summaries that include all available information, including literature citations, from which to make a scientific comparison of one method versus another, in terms of their ability to meet project-specific requirements. At present, NEMI contains primarily analytical laboratory methods, although the number of field collection methods is growing.
NEMI is maintained under the direction of the Methods and Data Comparability Board, a partnership of water-quality experts from Federal agencies, States, municipalities, industry, and private organizations.

EPA Substance Registry System - SRS

The EPA Substance Registry System (SRS) is a database of names and codes used within EPA and in STORET to represent chemical and biological substances and physical properties of interest to EPA and its partners. Looking for information about a substance? Search by CAS Number, Name, Taxonomic Serial Number, Molecular Formula, Chemical Type, Definition, or Alternate Identifier.

Integrated Taxonomic Information System - ITIS

Exit EPA Disclaimer

The Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS) is a partnership of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican agencies, other organizations, and taxonomic specialists cooperating on the development of an on-line, scientifically credible, list of biological names focusing on the biota of North America.

Catalogue of Life - ITIS and Species 2000

Exit EPA Disclaimer

The Catalogue is published as two products:
• Species 2000 & ITIS Catalogue of Life: Annual Checklist
The Annual Checklist is published each year as a fixed edition.
• Species 2000 & ITIS Catalogue of Life: Dynamic Checklist
The Dynamic Checklist is real time access to the Species 2000 array of 26 online taxonomic databases, less extensive than the Annual Checklist.

EnviroMapper for Water

A map-based query tool with access to Legacy and Modern STORET sampling stations. Using this tool, you can zoom in on any area of the United States, and examine the map for locations of streams, roads, political boundaries, and other features. You can add Legacy or Modern STORET water quality monitoring stations to the map, and select them for downloading data.

MyEnvironment

MyEnvironment is a powerful map-based tool that provides a wide range of federal, state, and local information about environmental conditions and features in an area of your choice. This application is provided by U.S. EPA in partnership with federal, state and local government and other organizations.

The Exchange Network Browser

The Exchange Network Browser access the PRODUCTION Environment of the Exchange Network. This tool lets people retrieve data from environmental data providers who have published environmental and health data on the Exchange Network and registered their data with the Exchange Network Discovery Service. Seach using Map. Search using Environmental Interest. Browse ALL...
The Exchange Network Browser (EN Browser), is adopted as a shared tool by the Exchange Network Leadership Council, allows people to discover environmental and health data across the country that are published from different State, Tribal and Federal Exchange Nodes.

Integration Test Tool - Node in the Exchange Network

This application provides the ability to test any Node in the Exchange Network, by triggering Network WSDL-compliant requests on that Node. If a Node passes a test with this tool, if is very likely, if not guaranteed, that the Node will be interoperable with other Network WSDL-compliant Nodes. This tool, which is intended to verify general compliance with the Functional Specification, focuses on interoperability among Nodes.
In order to become compliant, Node developers must implement the Network WSDL found here The URL that is provided during initialization will be used as the end point address of the Node to be tested.
In the menu pane, testers can choose to perform either interactive tests, automatic tests, or multi-step scenarios. Note that the tool is under construction, so some operations will be provided later.

Data Quality and Assessment Management Tools

Data Quality Assessment is used to assess the type, quantity, and quality of data in order to verify that the planning objectives, Quality Assurance Project Plan components, and sample collection procedures were satisfied and that the data are suitable for its intended purpose. This link provides the EPA's documentations and tools to assess the data quality.

Water Quality Assessment and ATTAINS

The Assessment Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Tracking and Implementation System (ATTAINS) provides information reported by the states to EPA about the conditions in their surface waters. This information is required every two years under Clean Water Act Sections 305(b) and 303(d).

National Aquatic Resource Surveys

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, states, and tribes are conducting a series of national aquatic resource surveys. Often referred to as probability-based surveys, these studies report on core indicators of water condition using standardized field and lab methods. The surveys include a national quality assurance program and are designed to yield unbiased, statistically-representative estimates of the condition of the whole water resource (such as rivers and streams, lakes, ponds, and reservoirs, wetlands, etc).

WATERS

WATERS (Watershed Assessment, Tracking & Environmental ResultS) unites water quality information that was previously available only from several independent and unconnected databases.

Surf Your Watershed

Locate Your Watershed and find Watershed Health Information about a place of interest. Watersheds are based on the Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) scheme developed by the United States Geological Survey, and provide coverage of the continental United States only.

National Hydrography Dataset
