2007 STORET/WQX Users Conference

You are invited to attend the 2007 STORET/WQX Users Conference November 27-29 in Austin, Texas!

There have been a lot of changes with STORET since 2004, and you're invited to this important event to share information and network with STORET and WQX users alike.

Overall, the conference will

  • Share information about the STORET Program
  • Explore the new Water Quality Exchange (WQX) framework
  • Help users transition from distributed STORET to WQX

Call for Presenters!

We invite you to participate and present your work at the conference. This is a great opportunity for users to share information and have discussions around many of the changes in STORET over the past few years.

Please submit an abstract for your presentation by sending us an email: storet@epa.gov. Please include "Conference Abstract" in the subject line. Abstracts should be no longer than one page and should include a title, name of presenter, and general description of what will be discussed. The deadline for submitting abstracts is August 31st.

Suggested topics and examples for presentations include (but aren't limited to):

  • Transitioning from distributed STORET
    (e.g. Examples of state STORET user issues and solutions)


  • WQX Data Submission and Data Storage and Management
    (e.g. Examples of State and local data management systems and pushing data to WQX)


  • Data Access, Retrieval and Analysis
    (e.g. Examples of geospatial and other analysis applications that make use of STORET data)


  • Enhancing Data Exchange and Integration
    (e.g. Examples of innovative water data accessibility and use across the Exchange Network)


  • Tribal Water Quality Data Management
    (e.g. Examples of tribal water quality data management and transitioning to WQX)


  • Tools for data interaction
    (e.g. Examples of tools for data entry and analysis)


  • Other Data Sharing Networks
    (e.g. Examples of innovative data sharing networks, such as exchanging geospatial data or data across international borders)

Online registration is now available! Registration for this conference is free of charge. All attendees must register. The deadline to register is November 5, 2007. Once you've registered, you will receive a confirmation email.

Location and Hotel

The conference sessions will take place at the Omni Hotel in beautiful downtown Austin. The location of the Omni is ideal for accessing all that downtown Austin Exit EPA Disclaimer has to offer. A block of rooms have been reserved at the Omni at the discounted rate of $85.00 per night. This rate will be available until November 5, so don't wait until the last minute to make your reservation.

The group code for our block of rooms will be automatically populated as you make your reservation. The Omni's website indicates the conference dates are from November 26-30. These are the dates that the block of rooms has been set aside for; the conference will still take place from November 27-29.
