These are not final designations. The notice outlining these area boundaries never became effective.

|District of Columbia||Entire District is unclassifiable/attainment|
|Maryland||Baltimore, MD||Anne Arundel
Montgomery County* (final in April 2009)

* Consistent with its December 5, 2008 letter (PDF) (4 pp, 155KB), EPA intends to modify the Baltimore nonattainment area to add Montgomery and Prince George's Counties as nonattainment for the 2006 PM2.5 standard. These counties would be included in the Baltimore nonattainment area listed in the table above. Maryland recommended these two counties be included in a Washington, DC-MD-VA nonattainment area, based upon 2004-2006 air quality data, but did not recommend their inclusion in the Baltimore area.
