U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Resources

  • Air Now
    A collaboration between the U.S. EPA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), National Park Service, and tribal, state, and local agencies to provide the public with easy access to national air quality information and the air quality index (AQI) for local areas.

Other Federal Departments & Agencies

  • Clean Cities Program
    A U.S. Department on Energy (DOE) program that provides information to support local decisions to adopt alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid electric vehicles, and idling reductions.
  • It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air
    A unique public education and partnership-building initiative developed, collaboratively, by several federal agencies to help regional, state, and community efforts to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.

    An Oklahoma Department of Environmental Protection resource that includes an air quality index for children and a list of ten steps for improving air quality.
  • Clean Air is Everyone's Business
    A San Luis Obispo County, California, Air Pollution Control District (APCD) program that is focused on working to protect the health of its residents by maintaining healthy air quality levels.

  • AirShare
    A tool for air quality communicators that provides up-to-date information on state and local air-related news, products, events, programs, and activities.
  • Going Places, Making Choices
    This innovative curriculum, developed by National 4–H Council, is experiential and focuses on raising the awareness of high school students about transportation and personal mobility choices now and in the future.
  • National Association of Clean Air Agencies (NACAA, formerly formerly STAPPA and ALAPCO)
    This site allows users to locate state and local air agencies across the nation and access the latest information on important air pollution topics.
  • The Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA)
    An organization focused on assisting air quality agencies and personnel with implementation and technical issues associated with the federal Clean Air Act.
