A remedial action plan will now be required for this project. The combination of a very shallow water table and the presence of a residential area in such close proximity will dictate the need for source area control and remediation. The decision as to whether or not it is necessary to remediate all or a portion of the dissolved component plumes will be based on the degree of impact to the surface water and the actual level of impairment to the resource. Modeling will undoubtably play a role in both evaluations.
