The National Air Toxics Trends Station (NATTS) Network was developed to fulfill the need for long-term HAP monitoring data of consistent quality. Among the principle objectives are assessing trends and emission reduction program effectiveness, assessing and verifying air quality models (e.g., exposure assessments, emission control strategy development, etc.), and as direct input to source-receptor models. The current network configuration includes 27 sites (20 urban, 7 rural) across the United States; thirteen sites were established in 2003, ten sites in 2004, and two sites each in 2007 and 2008. There are typically over 100 pollutants monitored at each NATTS (though only 19 of those are required; included are VOCs, carbonyls, PM10 metals, hexavalent chromium, and PAHs.

There are many NATTS documents contained in other pages on this website; in particular see the Methods, Quality Assurance, and Data Analysis pages for additional NATTS-related information.
