Abstract: National Layer of Storet Stations from Modernized Storet
Purpose:: Created from a station file provided by Office of Water (EPA Headquarters). This layer will be updated monthy after the National Storet Database is refreshed. It can be used to display all STORET Stations in the US and then used to link back to National Storet Warehouse Query pages to obtain analyte data.

Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy:

Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report:: Horizontal accuracy varies significantly, and locational accuracy is the responsibility of the data contributors. No stations with inaccurate lat long values were removed except those with lat, long of 0. Data contributors may choose to correct their latitude and longitude values after viewing the layer and resubmit these locations to the National STORETdatabase. If so, these corrections will be reflected in the layer after the refresh of the Storet Database the following month. The horz_datum, geopos_method and map_scale attributes of the layer provide information as to horizontal accuracy. All stations with a NAD27 datum were corrected to NAD83. The new lat and long was entered in the lat83 and lon83 fields. These fields were used in the layer creation.

1) Date downloaded as cvs file from national storet ftp site 2) Datum corrections made to stations with nad27 datums. xshft,yshft,totshft,lat83,lng83 fields populated. 3) All stations with latitude and longitude of 0 were removed. 4) Arc identity used to overlay national atlas coverage of counties and hucs to populate "ovxxxx" fields and to populate null values in the huc and county fields. 5) All double quotes included within attributes values were remove. 6) Sta_link field created.
