Federal and State Government To Announce Innovative Green Chemistry Partnership to Advance California’s Push for Safer Consumer Products
**Media Tour of Hospital Research Center Spotlights Use Of Less Toxic Products**
What: On Thursday Jan 12 the California Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) will host a press conference and visual media opportunity that demonstrates the need for safer consumer products. The two agencies will sign an agreement that formalizes a partnership to push for safer consumer products in California. Exposure to toxic chemicals in everyday life has increasingly become an environmental and health concern.

DTSC’s proposed Safer Consumer Products regulations place California at the forefront of an international effort to identify safer ingredients for consumer goods. Jones oversees USEPA’s pesticide, toxic chemical and pollution prevention efforts.
