Partner Profile
Lewis and Clark Community College is a two-year higher education institution with multiple campuses, a river research center, Community Education Centers and training centers located throughout the 220,439-person college district, which reaches into seven counties. The college created a Climate Action Plan, instituted a per-credit-hour Green Fee, and signed on to the American Colleges and Universities Presidents’ Climate Commitment during the 2008-2009 school year. The main goal emanating from that commitment is to achieve campus carbon neutrality by the year 2058. Part of this effort, then, was the commitment to purchase 100 percent renewable energy, almost entirely sourced from wind, formalized for a second time in 2014.
