The Coca-Cola Company has a goal to reduce the carbon footprint of its beverages by 25 percent by 2020. In support of this goal, Coca-Cola Refreshments USA, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company that bottles, markets, and distributes Coca-Cola’s soft drinks, bottled waters, juices, and other non-alcoholic beverages throughout North America,has implemented a landfill gas fueled cogeneration project, two landfill gas fueled fuel cell projects, a waste water bio-gas fired boiler and multiple rooftop solar projects. Looking ahead, Coca-Cola plans to continue to encourage its suppliers, customers, consumers, and partners to operate more sustainably through activities such as sustainable sourcing, responsible water use, recycling, increased energy efficiency, and the use of green power.
