On Tuesday, June 5, from 1-2 pm (EST), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Green Power Partnership hosted a webinar on Innovative Financing Structures for Aggregated Renewable Projects for governments and tax-exempt institutions.
As more state and municipal governments, universities and hospitals move towards hosting renewable energy systems and implementing large energy efficiency programs, new pooled financing structures are developing. The value created through pooled financing can represent significant savings to host governments and tax-exempt institutions from working in collaboration with peer institutions and governments. In this webinar, C. Baird Brown and Christopher B. Berendt, of the national law firm Drinker Biddle, examined potential structures and benefits of pooled financing for solar energy projects as well as highlight lessons learned with other clean energy deployments.

- C. Baird Brown, a partner in Drinker Biddle's Environmental and Energy Practice Groups. Mr. Brown currently focuses on renewable energy, including wind, solar, biomass, tidal, geothermal, and biofuels. He represents state and local sustainability agencies charged with promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and green infrastructure.
- Christopher B. Berendt is of counsel to Drinker Biddle's Environmental & Energy Practice Groups and heads the Environmental Markets Team. Mr. Berendt concentrates his practice in the design and operations of the compliance and voluntary environmental markets, as well as the power markets. He counsels clients on the creation and capture of asset value on matters including transactions, project development and financing.
